Russell's Wyatt Tweet has been having a very good season with the Bantam Parkland Rangers, and he was awarded for his contributions to the team, as he was named to Team West for the AAA All-Star Game last month in Winnipeg.

"It was huge for me," said Tweet.  "Just being named to that team made me realize I want to start taking hockey a lot more seriously.  I want to try my best to make it to the next level, and it was just a great experience."

In 35 games with the Rangers this year Wyatt has 31 points, 15 of which are goals.

"I owe a lot to my coach," said Tweet.  "He's helped me so much this year and taught me so many things.  I also owe a lot to my brother.  He's helped me a lot as well."

Tweet and the rest of the Rangers finished off their regular season this past Sunday with an 8-6 win against the Pembina Valley Hawks, which upped their winning streak to six games.

"Our team has some great chemistry," said Tweet.  "We're all great friends, and we all go super hard in practice and we have a winning mindset.  We just don't take any shifts off, and it's been working."

The team is now preparing for the Provincial Championships this weekend in Killarney.  The winner of the Championships face off against the City Champion, for a spot in the Western Canadian Championships.

"I'm really looking forward to playing Yellowhead," said Tweet.  "We don't like them very much, so it's going to be a huge game.  Just knowing we have a chance to win the Provincials and beat the city team and then go to the Westerns is really exciting."

Wyatt and the rest of the Rangers kick off their Provincials this Friday against Central Plains and then take on Yellowhead on Saturday morning at 9:30.
