The Parkland U18 Rangers opened their season on Saturday afternoon against the Winnipeg Wild.

Parkland only trailed 2-1 after 20 minutes of play, but the Wild caught fire in the second as they downed Parkland, 10-3. The Wild scored five times in the second.

Tavyn Boychuk opened the scoring in the game for the Rangers. In the third period, Madden Murray showed what he can do. His first of the season came 3:47 into the third and his second of the game with just more than five minutes left was a dandy. He went coast-to-coast and made a great move past a defender before going top shelf up and over the Wild's goalie glove.

The Rangers will host the Wild to wrap up the first weekend of the season on Sunday afternoon at 1:30.
